Landing on the scene just a few years ago, SOHMI quickly gained a reputation for her nuanced and emotive brand of DJing, subsequently becoming the first Korean woman to be named a resident at LA’s premier underground house and techno club, Sound. Though she had barely been DJing for a year at that point, it was clear to everyone that she was a natural force behind the decks.
Undoubtedly, all her years of musical training prepared SOHMI for this moment. With a sonic ethos heavily rooted in and influenced by her studies of classical music, she draws inspiration from the old symphonic masters in her approach to building DJ sets and the minimalism of modern 20th century composers in her productions.
