Mixmag took a trip to the US Capital for a full day of dance music mania on August 10 for a Lab DC session at Wild Days – a lush botanical rooftop bar and music venue attached to the Eaton Hotel in Downtown Washington DC.
Kicking things off at 1:00pm, this free all-day party heard sets from some of Wild Days’ favorite resident DJs including Samantha Francesca b2b Sarah Myers and Philip Goyette. Ahead of our headliner, Mixmag’s very own Funster and Day Cart will step up to the decks together to warm things up.
For the all-day affair’s main event, Mixmag and Wild Days invited world-class DJ-producer Saeed Younan to bring us a smashing array of dance music mastery.
Born in Iraq and based in Washington DC, Saeed Younan’s career behind the decks spans back to the mid-90s. Since first releasing hot singles on labels such as Groove On, Cutting Traxx and his home city’s Yoshitoshi Recordings before the turn of the century, Younan has steadily built up his reputation as one of the most seasoned and respected DJs in the US.
He’s been on tour with Carl Cox, played numerous North American festivals and continues to secure headlining slots at prominent clubs all over the world. For the past 15 years, his Younan Music imprint has provided dancefloors with a hot variety of house and techno jams that continue to see support from some of the biggest DJs in the scene. Armed with his chunky, tribal and advanced tech house sound, this Washington DC DJ is ready to bring severe heat to this verdant rooftop adventure.
Saeed Younan droped his third EP on Carl Cox’s Intec Digital imprint, ‘Back To The Drums’ – on August 9.
