Masterclasses, mentoring, studio time, training, and free audio equipment and software will be provided
Rhythm Section has announced a mentorship programme for emerging electronic music artists.
Future Proof will provide an opportunity for six burgeoning artists to participate in masterclasses, mentoring, studio time, and training, as well as offering out audio equipment including headphones, microphones, DJ cartridges, and software that includes a copy of Ableton Live 11.
The programme will also provide sessions with an Ableton Certified Trainer, press photos, and travel expenses. Supported by Audio-Technica, Ableton, Pirate, Arts Council and PRS Foundation, Future Proof is “tailored to help prepare them for the future of the music industry”.
“Mentorship is so important and there’s a number of key figures in my journey who opened doors and illuminated paths for me in my career, giving me the confidence, contacts and experience to do things my way,” said Rhythm Section’s founder Bradley Zero. “Future Proof is the next step on Rhythm Section’s knowledge-sharing journey – allowing us to consolidate our work, help address the imbalances in the scene, demystify the industry and inspire a new generation to be the game-changers, taste-makers and leaders of the future.”
The programme is looking to hear from artists from across the UK with a focus on the sounds that have shaped Rhythm Section as a label and dance: deep house, house, techno, jazz and soul.
The deadline for applications is on 21st November at 10 AM GMT. Find out how to apply here.
Last year, Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section label put out the second instalment of the label’s ‘SHOUTS’ compilation series. The 21-track collection places a focus on new and emerging artists, collecting brand new tracks from the likes of Soso Tharpa, Kareem Ali, James Massiah, Nídia, Adam Pits, Guava & Breaka, CKTRL, Yushh, and many more.
Also in 2021, Bradley Zero shared a detailed video masterclass on how to start a label.
