Preditah is the Birmingham-based producer who cut his teeth making grime bombs such as ‘Circles’ and ‘Red Bull’. Recently he’s dipped down into bass-house and garage, meaning a slight change in sound but a wider selection of styles to choose from. We’ve been wanting to get him in The Lab for ages, so this should be a great showcase of what Preds is all about going into ’14.
Visionist makes future-facing grime that could easily soundtrack missions into outer space. He’s released on niche labels Ramp and Lit City Trax while also promoting emerging artists via his own Lost Codes imprints. The South London artist is definitely one of the most exciting talents working in bass music right now and his DJ sets merge colourful grime with trap rap anthems. This’ll be all kinds of good.
Slackk has been championing grime for ages now and has something of an encyclopaedic knowledge of the genre. His recent releases via London’s Local Action have marked him out as an ingenious producer (seriously, check ’em) and his radio show on the city’s NTS station are the go-to place for crucial new beats. Lately he’s hooked up with one of the most exciting lyricists around – Novelist and the pair will perform together live in The Lab. Catch them playing at Motion in Bristol for The Blast vs Swamp81 vs Authentiq on the 28th Feb. Get your tickets here: Click subscribe and tune into the stream on MixmagTV from 16:00 UK time.
