ReykjavĂk born producer and DJ, LaFontaine is one of the most auspicious artists coming from Iceland. His most acclaimed releases yet âDehumanizedâ – including a remix from Matrixxman on Exosâs label Planet X – and âParallel Series 7â on the legendary Mote-Evolver imprint owned by Luke Slater, drew attention from many of the most respected artists in the scene.
Icelandâs constant change of weather patterns and diversity in its distinctive nature has a big impact on the daily life of LaFontaine. He channels this into his productions, resulting in a range of different sounding music mostly within the techno genre making each release distinctive. Same goes for his live and DJ sets; by giving time and thought for preparation, keeping a certain theme to each set he strives to make the next one different from the last, which also keeps things interesting for him. With inspiration coming from all directions, LaFontaine respects the old school, appreciates current and coming trends but is always on the look out for new and alluring soundscapes.
