Gem & Jam Festival is a staple for Arizona’s music-loving communities and has become a haven for art, music, and workshops since its inception. Set to make its return for the 15th annual edition on February 3-5 at the Pima County Fairgrounds, the festival turned heads with previously announced headliners The String Cheese Incident, LSDREAM, The Floozies, and Emancipator among the artists on the initial lineup.
Today, Gem & Jam dropped even more additions to the lineup to make this special anniversary even bigger and better. The String Cheese Incident’s drummer, Michael Travis, will perform under his duo project Snakes & Stars alongside musical partner and friend Aaron Johnston of The David Byrne Band. A current champion of psychedelic-inspired electronic music, LSDREAM, is set to double up on his debut at Gem & Jam by blessing attendees with Lightcode, an immersive healing experience that features sound baths alongside his original sonic production.
Denver-based trip-hop duo Since JulEYE is also making their debut at Gem & Jam this year, bringing with them a creative fusion of hip-hop, jam, and electronic-inspired production tendencies. Additionally, Talking Dead will delight any fan of The Grateful Dead and Talking Heads as this collaborative project from Life During Wartime and Garcia Birthday Band will be playing plenty of groovy tunes at the festival.
The addition of other new artists in the “All The Homies” Opal Stage Takeover is sure to level up the Gem & Jam lineup, as the sonic imprint of these artists simply can not be missed. Some of the 40+ artists featured in this takeover include Meeshroom, OG Coconut, Ottespace, Aluna Dragon, Cobra Shell, Emerald Bass, and Ruff Stuff, alongside many others who have come up in the local Tucson music scene. In previous years, the Opal Stage has always featured a state-of-the-art sound system and has been located centrally within the festival grounds to help break up the flow of traffic and give festival attendees even more diversity in their festival experience.
