The Lab is our weekly office rave up where we live stream our favourite and most loved artists direct from the club in the corner of our office. This Friday we welcome the immensely talented Axel Boman as well as the sound of Future Disco.
Since bursting onto the scene back in 2010 with ‘Purple Drank’ released on DJ Koze’s Pampa Records, the Swedish musician has gone on to have a sting of fine releases on labels such as Hypercolour, DFA and Permanent Vacation as well as setting up his own imprint Studio Barnhus. Last year saw Axel Boman release his truly fantastic debut LP ‘Family Vacation’, an album which ever so elegantly combines elements of house, disco, jazz and hip hop and has received serious amounts of love within Mixmag HQ.
Representing the sound of Future Disco this Friday will be Sean Brosnan. Sean has also been a resident at Carl Cox’s Revolution, the legendary night at Space in Ibiza, for the past four years with his infections Future Disco sound playing in both the Sunset Terrace and Premier Etage. His award winning Future Disco compilation series is now on its ninth release and specialises in bringing together modern-day disco with deep house.
This week’s Lab kicks off at the usual time of 4pm GMT and you can tune in below or on MixmagTV.
Future Disco 7 ‘Til The Light Come Up’ is out now, can be found here and includes Axel Boman’s remix of Naughty’s ‘Names in Lights’
