In this video our instructor Borys takes a look at 4 Ableton techniques which are very rarely used. First we’re going to dissect 2 awesome sidechain techniques – using EQ in Compressor, especially the highpass curve, and using the Sidechain feature in Multiband Dynamics. Next, we’re taking a close look at the Drum Rack and discussing the use of Sends and Return Tracks inside the racks. Finally the fourth technique revolves around using Expression Control to modulate the Decay and Attack of hihat samples, making them sound more natural and realistic. Let’s get started!
